Marine-grade details that improve with age
Solid Brass
From machined leash plugs to engraved fin box plates, every brass component is selected for its durability and timeless character. Left unfinished, solid brass develops a rich natural patina over time—or can be polished to maintain its original luster. Personalized engraving is available through our Custom Commission program.

Built to be held for decades.
Horween® Leather
Our carry handles are handcrafted from Horween Chromexcel leather, produced just a few miles from our Chicago studio. Rich with natural oils and greases, the leather remains supple while resisting the elements, then is hand saddle-stitched and finished with solid brass hardware. Every handle is pressed with our “Handmade in Chicago” maker’s mark, with optional custom embossing available for commissioned pieces.

Born from volcanic rock.
Basalt Fiber
Woven from continuous basalt fibers, this advanced composite reinforces the standing area and rails where impacts are most likely to occur. Unlike carbon fiber, basalt is prized for absorbing impact energy without becoming brittle, making it an exceptionally durable and more environmentally conscious reinforcement.
Precision beneath the surface
EPS Foam Core
Our lightweight EPS cores are molded in Michigan before being precision CNC-shaped in our Chicago studio. Once encapsulated within layers of wood and advanced composites, the result is a remarkably lightweight structure engineered for years of reliable performance.

Color integrated into the craft.
Custom Mixed Pigments
Rather than covering our boards with paint, our pigments are mixed directly into the epoxy resin itself, allowing the fiberglass weave and hand-laminated construction to remain subtly visible beneath the surface. The result is a finish with greater depth, warmth, and authenticity. Custom color matching is available for commissioned projects.

The final layer of protection.
Ceramic Nano Finish
Borrowed from the world of luxury yacht finishing, our ceramic nano coating creates a durable, water-repellent surface that resists UV exposure, light scratches, and staining. Unlike traditional surfboard waxes or coatings, it requires virtually no maintenance while helping preserve the board’s appearance for years of use.
