At Jarvis Boards, we’re committed to building the best paddle boards on and for the planet.
But around here, sustainability isn’t a buzzword.
It’s not about flashy marketing or trendy green labels.
For us, it’s about something simpler — and stronger:
Durability. Longevity. Integrity.
We believe the most sustainable products are the ones you don’t have to replace.
1. Sustainability Through Durability
We don’t build boards to sit in a showroom.
We build them to ride. To last. To take a beating and keep going.
That’s why we don’t cut corners to shave off a few ounces.
We don’t use flimsy materials or overseas parts just to save a buck.
Every Jarvis Board is designed to withstand real use — and real riders.
Heavier riders, harder waters, longer days.
The kind of use that would split a cheap board in half.
• We use thicker glassing schedules for strength, not minimum specs.
• We use the best components, like Futures USA-made fin boxes — the strongest in the industry.
• We build each board to outlast trends, wear, and throwaway culture.
Durability IS sustainability.
Because a board that lasts 10+ years is better for the planet than one you toss in 2.
2. Sustainability Through Smarter Materials
We’re careful about what we use — and why we use it.
• Wood Veneers:
We source sustainably harvested premium wood from the best in the business.
Using ultra-thin veneers not only preserves natural beauty — it replaces layers of fiberglass, reducing composite material usage without sacrificing strength and increasing duablity.
• EPS Foam Cores:
Our production boards are built with US-manufactured EPS foam, not cheap polyurethane. EPS is lighter, less toxic, and better suited for modern, high-performance boards.
• Epoxy Resin:
We use epoxy resin instead of polyester.
It’s more durable, longer-lasting, and less harmful — to both riders and builders.
• Local Sourcing:
Wherever possible, we source materials locally, reducing transport emissions and supporting responsible partners who share our values.
3. Sustainability Through Local, Clean Manufacturing
We’re proud to be one of the few paddle board brands that still manufactures in the USA.
• Every Jarvis board is built in our Chicago workshop, not shipped from a distant factory with unknown standards.
• We keep our supply chain tight, working with vendors who are often just a few miles away.
• Our shop uses minimal harmful chemicals. No vats of acetone fuming through our space and into the atmosphere.
We reuse, recycle, and reduce wherever we can.
This isn’t just about reducing our carbon footprint.
It’s about building with accountability — knowing where everything comes from, and where it goes.
Built to Last. Built with Purpose.
We’re not here to win the “greenest” award.
We’re here to build boards with soul, that ride hard, last long, and respect the planet they were made for.
Because true sustainability isn’t about checking boxes.
It’s about doing things the right way — even when it’s harder, slower, and more expensive.
And that’s exactly how we build.
